John Adams Website

    John Adams and Abigail Smith were married on October 25, 1764. Abigail was the daughter of a well known Congregational minister that lived in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Abigail and John had problems in their marriage while they were seperated. While he was in Europe as a diplomat and in the capital as a president, Abigail stayed at home in Quincy, Massachusetts.

   John and Abigail had five children. One of the children died and only four lived to adulthood. They named their first child Abigail Amelia Adams, she was born in the year of 1765 and died the year of 1813 of breast cancer. Their next child was John Quincy Adams who was born July 11, 1767 and died in February 23,1848. He later lived to be the 6th president of the United States, his term was 1825-1829. After John Quincy, Susanna was born but she died two years after birth of a childhood illness. In 1770 Abigail gave birth to their next son Charles. He died on November 30, 1800 in New York City. Thomas Boylston Adams was born in 1772, he later married a girl named Ann Harrod in 1805. He died in the year of 1837.
